This year’s USA Championships will take place at the Huntington Beach Pier, June 18-19 and Lower Trestles at San Onofre State Beach, June 21-25. The final two days at Lower Trestles will be available to watch via live webcast at Surfline.com.
“Quiksilver is excited to sponsor the USA Championships and support the future of surfing," said Mike Matey, Quiksilver’s Vice President of Marketing. "We can't wait to see this next generation of surfers competing on the high-performance waves at Trestles - we know they'll put on quite a show and blow our minds."
The Quiksilver USA Championships are the leading event in North American junior surfing, and decide the undisputed USA surfing champions. Organizations that bring their top athletes into the event include the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA), the Western Surfing Association (WSA) and the Hawaii Surfing Association (HSA). This is also the final event in the Surfing America Prime Series, which determines the 2012 PacSun USA Surf Team. Leading surfers competing in this year’s events on the boy’s side include Kolohe Andino, Ian Crane, Conner Coffin, Parker Coffin, Luke Davis, Jake Halstead, Derek Peters, Taylor Clark, Colin Moran, Kanoa Igarashi, Jacob Davis, Jake Marshall, Skip McCullough, and Trevor Thornton. On the girl’s side, be sure to look out for Lakey Peterson, Kulia Doherty, Nikki Viesins, Quincy Davis, Frankie Harrer, and Jasset Umbel.
