Tiago Pires was the first Portuguese surfer to qualify for the World Tour. He spent nearly a decade sparring with the world's best and played a major role in the passionate boom of surfing in his homeland. And, to top it all off, his movie Saca was the first surf film to ever hit mainstream Portuguese cinema. Much like Tiago’s surfing, the film was critically acclaimed and enjoyed by anyone who watched. Tiago currently runs a Quiksilver Boardriders shop in Ericeira, Portugal, and surfs with the same mix of tenacity and grace that brought him here - the guy is pretty much the president of Portugal.
